Hello, my name is Shayan Babadi, I am from the EUT+ partner University UNICAS, Cassino, Italy, and I worked as an Erasmus internship student in the Rock Mechanics Laboratory at Hochschule Darmstadt with Prof. Ulrich Burbaum, where I conducted uniaxial compression tests on basalt specimens to investigate the effect of strain rate on uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and evaluating modulus of elasticity. I prepared specimens, performed laboratory testing under controlled loading conditions, and analysed the results.
Besides the academic part, this Erasmus mobility has offered me the possibility to immerse myself in the German culture, history and language, through my everyday interaction with people, and in addition I have made contact with various companies and people from the technical field which will help me for my further career.
