Semester abroad, internship, thesis or short stay?

Short guide for a semester abroad:

Step 1 (approx. 12-18 months before the stay abroad):

• Information phase (financing, partner universities (MoveOn portal of the h_da), choice of course, residence permit/visa, language requirements, other requirements)

Step 2 (approx. 12 months before the stay abroad):

• Decision phase (select host university, observe application deadlines, submit application via the MoveOn portal of the h_da)

Step 3 (approx. 6-9 months before the stay abroad):

• Nomination phase (nomination by the foreign representative, signing of the application, submission of the nomination)

Step 4 (approx. 6-9 months before the stay abroad):

• Learning Agreement phase (which courses do you want to take? Coordination of the Learning Agreement with the foreign representative)

Step 5 (approx. 6 months before the stay abroad):

• Application phase (after the nomination at the host university by the International Office, your Application to the partner university (note application deadlines)

Step 6 (approx. 2 months before the stay abroad):

• Preparation phase for the stay (pre-departure meeting)

Step 7 (during the stay abroad):

• Stay at the partner university (submission of various documents to the International Office, coordination with the foreign representative in the event of changes to the course schedule)

Step 8 (after the stay abroad):

• Recognition phase (submission of various documents, recognition of examination results)
