Details about Johannes Kuntsche

I am Professor of Structural Engineering at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since 2021. I focus on the lecture modules Mechanics, Statics, Structural Dynamics and Glass Construction. My courses cover these areas and related basic and advanced subjects. In the future, I would like to become more involved in research again in my specialist area of"Glass and polymers in building construction".

Between 2005 and 2010, I studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt, specializing in statics, solid construction and geotechnics. From 2010 to 2016, I was a research assistant at the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Design at TU Darmstadt and completed my PhD in 2015 on the topic of "Mechanical behavior of laminated glass interlayers under time-dependent loading and explosion stress". During my time at TU Darmstadt, I was a member of the student council for many years and an elected representative on the faculty council as a student and later also as a research assistant.

From 2016 to 2021 I was working as a structural engineer and project manager in different engineering offices in Darmstadt. Meanwhile, I continuously held lectures at TU Darmstadt and Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

A list of my publications can be found under my ORCID or on ResearchGate.

If you are interested in writing your thesis, please feel free to contact me, preferably by e-mail. You can find further information on topics from me or my colleagues in the constructive field in moodle. No registration key is required for the course. Of course, you can also come to me with your own topic suggestions and/or with external partners (engineering offices, companies, etc.).
